Turkey Time!

Hooray! Its the Thanksgiving long weekend!!!

Which means: 1. An extra day to sleep in and 2. Turrrrrkeeey!!!!

Fuck! I love eating Turkey. I really do. Its prolly my fave part of Christmas too. Since I was a kid I have thought that the greatest part about the turkey is when my Mom pulls it out of the oven to cool before she cuts it... and I sneak into the kitchen [and its pretty tricky because, yes, i have been doing this for 28 years] and steal pieces of meat off the bird. She just frigging FREAKS at me! "Stop picking at the Turkey! You can wait like everyone else!"

For the last few years she has tried to prevent my stealth eating by donating the turkey's neck to my cause. She'll pull it out of the roasting pan 10 minutes before the rest comes out and casually leaves it on the cutting board, hoping that ill pick at that and leave the rest of the turkey alone. But i dont. [ but lets not tell her because i do enjoy eating that too.]

This year my partner in crime will be coming with me to dinner. Its been a very very very long time since i had a 'date' at a holiday meal [ i believe Thanksgiving 2000 was the last...] so i wont be nestled between my nephews on the children's side of the table this time. This is only Jer's second interaction with my parents...the first was pretty dismal, my Dad got pretty wasted and started watching the porn preview channel. Ug. Hopefully they will just watch hockey or CFL or something.

Happy Turkey Day!

Hey, it's a long weekend. Do the porn, hockey AND football. If Jer can't bond with your dad over that stuff, maybe he's gay. ;-)

Happy Turkey Weekend!

no, i was the one who was creeped out.. my dad telling my new BF that he likes the older ladies who still have firm tits was a little much for me... Jer, was a little uncomfortable, mostly cuz he's pretty shy around new people.

OMG, that's horrible and hilarious at the same time! You should have a talk with Daddy about establishing some boundaries this weekend. Or at least hide the booze.

Okay, so let me get this straight, In Canada you:

1. Drive in kmph
2. Weigh yourself in pounds? (I think)
3. Use Farenheit or celcius for temps?
4. Only get a 3 day weekend for Thanksgiving and it's in October?

Wtf, it's like a foreign country or something.

Oh yeah, and my dad likes to make comments about, "ooh, look at those knockers/hooter/rack" right in front of me. About girls walking down the street that are probably younger than me. And he's been sober for 13 years.

I just say, "you know other men are probably saying that about me" and that usually shuts him up.

Cindy:
- yes kilometers.
- we all just use pounds, although all of us have kilos on our drivers licenses which we just guesstimated cuz we dont understand the conversion.
- celcius. i dont understand farenheit. How warm is 75, anyways?
- our thanksgiving is in Oct. because it has to do with the end of the harvest...not with Indians and pilgrims
- and we all get excited when Oh Canada plays before the hockey game...I can sing it in both official languages! O Canada! Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux. [but i have no idea what it means]

75 is comfy... Room temperature is 72. 80 is hot. 90 is really hot.

I think kilos puts you at about half of your pounds if I remember correctly from eighth grade math/science, so I likey. Makes me feel so dainty.

I will now use this temperature conversion calculator for my posts to aid my international readers. ;)
